The intruder, Aaron Blackie - Nigeria

     Erosion corrodes,

Cracks within the walls

     Expanding the feet

Of the unwanted

     Strangers,

Grinding close to

     Home, decolorizing our

Glorified heritage!

     The nostril of the intruder,

Always snoop for

      Smell of cracks within

 The lines.

Oh, the intruders are

      Attracted to our

Territories... When

      Boundaries are inherited

By carefree minds, careless

       Of their

Heritages... Holding onto

       Foundations without

       Anchors;

Opening the doors

     To ravens rich towards

Death!

       The foundation that

       Endures,

Inherits it's staying strength

Not from the walls

       Without

       But the walls within...

     Carved by depth

Of it's Own dogged digging,

Of it's own painful mixing,

Of it's own careful laying

Of it's own upward moulding

Towards the architect's

      Blueprints.

     The outward life

Should be the picturesque

     Of the inward life

Lest the life lived

     There-in,

The wavering wind

     That wobbled the

 Leeway feet...

       By this, I have

Fashioned my own identity

Out of the dual heritage, bestowed

To us from the mixty-maxty past

I could not wholly alter,

But sorted, mended and reshaped the

      Best between both lines,

Synchronized into bloomy beauty,

Uniquely rich in textures,

Of rhythms and rhymes, the chiefs

Of them all,

Okigbo and Shakespeare--

      Two bards of my fanciful

Poetic heritage!

     Let us stand solid

On the high places of our

     Course,

The deeper the root

The longer the stay of the tree

      Our hold is strong

On the base, by the

      Coping

Of the foundations... For

      Not

All will cave-in to

      The roaring

Wind of the hurricane;

To the surging anger of

      The tsunami

By it all, we

Hold firmed the walls of our

     Continuous Spring....

      In the final analysis,

      In this vastly

Advancing world,

The intruder comes, but would

      Have no headways,

      Where inroads

Into the walls, leveraged

      Not the lines

For the easy erosive cracking...

      Let every kindred spirit,

Within the circles of hands stretch

Out to the other hands,

For love that enlarges the horizons

For the well being of the sundry

All, keep the

The sacred walls of the

Heart stayed strong and solid,

     Where the existential

      Essence

Of our being together,

Is deeply rooted and

       Defined...
