Darkling sky by Peter Rimmer, New Zealand

This darkling sky

Reveals a world

Hidden by the light.

The Southern Cross

A familiar sight

Climbs the sky tonight

Feet on the ground

Heartbeats homesick for eternity

Above the clouds into the night

The Southern Cross my compass stars.

In the darkling truth is revealed

Eyes stripped of colour

Under a vagrant moon

Monotones are the tunes

Night colours play

My feet dance the earths soft grasses

Into a circle that holds the stars captive

In a reflecting pool.

This darkling sky

Unveils a world

Concealed by light.
